Hitsujiyama Park is popular cherry blossom viewing spot that gets covered in a blanket of blossoms from over 400,000 trees of nine different varieties. The blossoms create a carpet that is like a patchwork of pink, red, white and violet.

    The shibazakura blooming season is from mid-April to early May. It can get crowded so early morning on a weekday is the best time to go.

    -Walk 30 min from Ohanabatake Station on the Chichibu Railway
    -Walk 20 min from Seibu-chichibu Station on the Seibu Railway(The roads are hilly to the park so wear good walking shoes)

    -By car from the Kan-etsu Expressway Garden IC
    -By car from the Ken-o Expressway Sayama-Hidaka IC(There are parking fees in the Hitsujiyama Park lot during the shibazakura [moss phlox] flowering season and traffic is restricted on weekends and holidays.)
