Thomas Blake Glover, who came to Japan from Scotland in Meiji period, built his house in Minamiyamate hill (in 1863). ”Glover Garden” mainly consists of the Former Glover house, the Former Ringer house and the Former Alt house, National Important Cultural Properties; and six other western-style buildings built in the Meiji period, which were relocated and reconstructed at the present place though they were once scattered throughout the city.
