Also known by the name Yodo (”Four-Times”) Falls, Fukuroda Falls is said to have been praised long ago by the renowned poet of Saigyo Hoshi (1118 - 1190) for having a true beauty that cannot be appreciated unless one comes to see it once in each of the four seasons. You can enjoy the view of the waterfall in illumination throughout the winter.

The waterfall gets frozen in pure white in extreme winter weather, where you can find ice climbers challenging to climb up the ice wall each holding an ice axe in their hands. *Due to the weather condition, it may not get frozen.
