Aoike, Juniko (Twelve Lakes)
Apr.
A lake the color of spilled blue ink, the water so clear you can see the trees that have fallen to the bottom. Aoike is located in a corner of the Shirakami Sanchi Mountain Range, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Tsugaru Quasi-National Park. It is quite a mystery... No one has yet managed to explain why it is such a mystical shade of blue!
