Fushimi Inari Taisha
- 伏見稲荷大社
- Kyoto
Very popular with tourists from overseas! Thousands of torii gates, the symbolic archway to Shinto shrines, have been line the entrance to this shrine, with each one donated by someone whose wish came true thanks to their prayers at this shrine. Even now torii gate donations are common, and it said to be more than 10,000 of them now stand in the Mt. Inari area behind the main shrine.
