This scenery, which has become world famous after being used as a wallpaper for the MacBook Pro, is actually a pond that was formed by chance during construction works after the volcanic eruption of Mt. Tokachi. With its superb contrast between the withered trees and blue water, this pond is said to be covered from view by accumulated snow during the winter.
