Tonami City of Toyama Prefecture produces the largest number of tulip bulbs in Japan. It goes back to when they started to cultivate cut flowers instead of rice-paddy cultivation. The Tulip Fair, which starts from the end of April to the beginning of May, sees a large number of tourists from all over Japan!
