Narusawa Ice Cave

The Narusawa Ice Cave is situated at the eastern entrance to the Aokigahara Jukai (the sea of trees), and it is one of the tourist attractions in Fuji Goko (five lakes) area which attracts tourists throughout the year. This cave with its double tunnel structure was formed by the molten lava flow (Aokigahara Marubi) that ran between old parasitic volcanoes when Mt. Nagao, a lateral volcano of Mt. Fuji, erupted over 1150 years ago.

Point
Entering the cave with high heels is dangerous and should be avoided, as the interior of the cave is slippery and there are many stairs. In addition, Pets are not allowed inside the cave as it is a natural monument.

Approx. 30-minute ride from “Kawaguchiko Station” on the Fujikyuko Line to “Fuketsu mataha Hyoketsu (Wind Cave or Ice Cave)” stop.
20-minute drive from Kawaguchiko IC on the Chuo Expressway.
45-minute drive from Gotenba IC on the Tomei Expressway via Higashi Fujigoko Road.
