This temple has the oldest and biggest ”Garan” (Holy place where priests train) in the world. The templeholds many paintings, documents, and cultural from the Muromachi and Kamakura periods onward.

Point
One of the best spots in Kyoto to see autumn leaves sceneries. The best season is from end of November to the beginning of December. In summer, you can enjoy sceneries of Maple trees leaves just before they become red.

From Kyoto Station, use the JR Nara line and get off at "Tofuku-ji", the temple is 10 minutes walk from the station.
