The Historic Village of Gokayama
The Historic Village of Gokayama

Gassho Village is located at the entrance of Gokayama, in Toyama Prefecture. Since this is a rugged mountainous area, it is also called "Hikyo" (unexplored region.) The historical scenery and the culture are carefully preserved to this day, starting with their traditional houses with steep rafter roofs. Visitors here can not only actually experience the traditional life of Gokayama, but they can also go on sightseeing tours of the surrounding area.
