This is a temple known for its stone garden, which means a garden that doesn't use any trees and is made only of sand, stones and rocks. Cherry blossoms, autumn leaves and snow scenery offer a combination of views all year long.

From "Sanjo" station (Keihan Railways), take the city bus #59 and get off at "Ryoanji mae", the temple is right next to the station.
Take Keifuku railways line and get off at "Ryoanji michi" station. The temple is 7 minutes walk from the station.
