The sect in charge of this temple considers Nature to be the at the center of their religious beliefs. The garden is well-maintained and its beauty subtly shifts with each of the four seasons. It is said that this temple has been known and loved as a Momijigari (fall foliage viewing) destination for more than 1,000 years.

    Some of the buildings in the temple’s precinct are listed as the National Important Cultural Properties including the Hondo (Main Hall), Sanjunoto (Three-Storied Pagoda), Goma-do (Prayer’s Hall), Shoro (Bell Tower), Shoin (Office Hall), and Kuri (Kitchen Hall).
