Takabocchi Kogen(highlands)
Look ahead and you see the magnificent Hida Alps spread out before you. Turn around and you can even sometimes catch sight of Mt. Fuji. This is the incredible 360° panorama that unfolds if you stand in the Takabocchi Highlands. In early summer, Japanese “Renge” azaleas dye the mountain in orange, and in the summer cattle are taken out to graze. On the first Sunday of August, the Takabocchi Highland Kusa Horse Races are held, famous as the highest altitude races held in all of Japan.
