In the spring, the park is famous as a cherry blossom viewing spot. The viewing season here is longer than in other places because there are both early- and late-blooming varieties, such as Somei-Yoshino and Yae-Zakura, that can be enjoyed throughout the season. At the beginning of summer, fireflies can be seen at the park and above the nearby river. In autumn, luxuriously colorful fall leaves shroud Kangetsukyo Bridge and Asao Pond. Yahiko Park truly is the kind of place where visitors can sample the charms of Japan's seasons.
