As the Iwai River flows down from Mt. Kurikoma, it passes through the 2 km- long Genbikei Gorge. The dynamic scenery was formed by the river eroding through the surrounding terrain, and you can enjoy the fast-flowing, turbulent upstream and the more peaceful, slow-moving downstream sections of the river. The leaves begin to change colors from mid-October, and red autumn leaves make a delightful contrast with the emerald green river water.
