Matsukawa Gorge
Matsukawa Gorge

The Matsukawa Gorge stretches between Matsukawa Onsen Town and Hachimantai Onsen Town and is well known as the most beautiful fall foliage spot in Iwate Prefecture. The entire gorge is filled with a virgin forest of beech and oak that changes into rich autumn hues. The gorge is also a great fishing destination for Iwana and Yamame trout.
