Enclosed in the splendid nature of the magnificent Northern Alps, Kurobe Dam can boast of being one of the greatest dams in the world. You can look upon the entire colossal dam from the viewing platform and watch the rainbows that sometimes appear above the powerful outflows of water. In fall, the surrounding mountains change from green to red and yellow, their peaks capped with snow. This beautiful color gradient is called the "Three Steps of Autumn."
