Surrounded by a forest of Japanese white birch and Erman's birch, this pond gorgeously reflects the alpine plants and autumn colors, which show the varying faces of the season against the backdrop of Mount Kasa. In summer, the area bustles with people visiting for boating, camping, and hiking.

Board the Nagaden bus bound for Shirane-kazan (Shirane Volcano)/Oku-shiga Kogen (Okushiga Highlands) at Yudanaka Station on the Nagano Electric Railway. It is about 40 minutes to Kido-ike (Kido Pond).
Exit at the Shinshu Nakano IC on the Joshin-etsu Expressway, and it is about a 45-minute drive along National Highway 292.
