Built in the Kamakura period (1185 - 1333), the Main Hall and Three-story Pagoda are designated as a National Treasure and were constructed in the pure Japanese architectural style that doesn't use a single nail. The temple is a popular place to view the autumn colors. With over 1,000 maple trees, the temple will be nothing short of amazing when the leaves turn red come fall. The Fudanzakura cherry tree, which blooms between autumn and spring, can also be found on its ground. This makes the temple one of the few places where you can enjoy cherry blossoms and autumn foliage at the same time.
