The Okitama Basin is dotted with over 20 cherry blossom spots containing ancient trees of more than 500 to 1,200 years old. As the weather most suited for farming activities in spring coincides with the cherry blossom season in Okitama, many of these ancients trees are affectionately called "Sowing Cherry Blossom". Known as the corridor of pretty flowers, the 43-km sightseeing route along the Flower Nagai Line is dotted with many cherry blossom trees. This includes one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots, Eboshiyama Senbonzakura (1,000 trees) in Akayu Onsen, Nanyu City; Choyo Cherry Blossom and Keikai Cherry Blossom in Sosho Park; Japan's Natural Monument, Isazawa's Kubo Cherry Blossom in Nagai City; Daimyoji Cherry Blossom in Kusaoka; Prefectural Natural Monument, Yakushi Cherry Blossom in Shirataka; and Kamanokoshi Cherry Blossom.
