Cherry Blossoms at Kumagaya Sakura Tsutsumi
A popular cherry blossom spot since the Edo period. The trees have burnt and withered many times over the years, but thanks to locals who worked hard to replant the trees, the beauty of the place was saved. The area has around 500 Yoshino cherry trees, stretching 2km along the banks of the Arakawa river and is listed in Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots. During the peak season from end-March to early-April, there is a cherry blossom festival, and the trees are lighted up at night.
