Cherry Blossoms at Shiraishi River
This place is a popular cherry blossom spot stretching for about 8km along the riverbank of Shiraishi River in Ogawara. There are around 1,200 trees, with some over 80 year-old, including the Yoshino cherries along the riverside. Every year during the cherry blossom season, the Ogawara Cherry Blossom Festival is held. You can enjoy the blossoms here by getting on a rickshaw or taking the riverboat down the river. The snow-capped Zao Mountain range in the background is also beautiful and the trees are illuminated at night.
