Magome-juku Historic Post Town
May
Magome is a once prosperous historic post town located at the southern tip of Kiso Valley. The post town is located on a 600-meter long steep incline, which makes it rather unique even in Japan. The cobblestone streets are lined with lattice-windowed residential houses, tea houses, and souvenir shops among others on both side, a scene which will bring you back to the Edo period. You can also see the gorgeous Mount Ena from the town.
