A quiet and quaint traditional town in Takayama. Rows of sake shops and other shophouses built in the traditional Hida-style line the streets, creating a spectacular view. Under the eaves, you can find cloud motif on the pillars, mud walls, and protruding lattice window, giving this place a retro atmosphere. The 1,000 colorful carps swimming in the Seto River which flows beside the storehouses also brings an extra charm to the town. The town is also a sight to behold in any of the four seasons.
