Hotoke-ga-ura (Buddha Cove) refers to the coastal area where a number of bluish-white rocks that look like Buddha statues stand. The view is so amazing, it looks like a scene straight out of a fairytale. The rocks are located on the "blade" of Shimokita Peninsula's "axe handle" and gained popularity after being featured in popular Japanese novel "A Fugitive from the Past". You can also enjoy the view of these magnificent rocks from a sightseeing boat.
