Statue of Hachiko, the Faithful Dog
- 忠犬ハチ公銅像
- Tokyo
Enduringly popular as a rendezvous point in Tokyo's Shibuya area, this bronze statue depicts the dog Hachiko, a faithful hound that went to Shibuya Station every day to meet his master, Tokyo University professor Hidesaburo Ueno. After Ueno died, Hachiko continued to go and wait at the station every day for his master, who was never to return. The legend and the dog are both much loved by people to this day.
