Located near Fukuoka's city center, this is one of Japan's greatest water-feature parks, with a total area of 39.8 hectares (98.3 acres) containing a pond 22.6 hectares (55.8 acres) in size. The park includes a 2 km walking path encircling the pond, a forest reserve for wild birds, a Noh theatre, a Japanese garden, a boathouse, and a chain of central islands joined by four bridges that feature an ukimi-do (a pavilion for watching the moon on the water at night). It's also well known for hosting the city's summertime fireworks festival.
