The city park was built along National Route 134 on the former site of Japan-America Navy training center and opened in 1971. It occupies an area of 19.9-hectare. There are many facilities in the park. This includes the Jumbo Pool (a large pool complex with six pools), the Transportation Park (where you can learn the rules of the road and how to ride a bicycle safely), the Transportation Exhibition Hall (a building with driving simulations and models of land, sea and air transports), a 2-hectare open field, a beautiful flower studio and flower garden, a multi-purpose open field where visitors can play soccer and rugby, as well as the Shonan Forest on a hill above national highway tunnel. In the Transportation Park, you can also find an exhibit of Odakyu's 2600-type train (Kuha 2658).
