Hakone Ropeway
- 箱根ロープウェイ
- Hakone
Sounzan Station to Togendai Station. The 25-minute ride is Japan's longest cableway, and offers a view of the majestic nature of Hakone and Owakudani from above. You will be overwhelmed by the amazing view from the cablecar where you can see Mount Fuji, the volcanic plumes known as "Jigokudani" in Owakudani, and the glimmering surface of Lake Ashinoko. The stops along the ropeway are never the same; you can find a souvenir shop at Sounzan Station and a station restaurant at Owakudani Station. *As of June 2016, the ropeway only operates between Owakudani station and Togendai station due to volcanic gases.
