The land where the Nakano-hashi Bridge crosses, known as Kazue-machi, gets its name from the chief priest of the Kaga Clan: Kazue Toda, who had a mansion in the town. The town is a designated conservation area of important traditional buildings within the city of Kanazawa. Visitors can enjoy the view of the bridge right alongside the town that retains the historic atmosphere of the Edo Period. It is also widely known as the setting for famous writer Kyoka Izumi's works, the "Bird of a Different Feather," and "Teriha Kyogen."
