Saga International Balloon Fiesta
More than 100 hot air balloons hailing from both Japan and abroad gather in this festival. Aside from the competition to see which balloons can land in a fixed point most accurately, the "Balloon Fantasia" exhibits gigantic balloons in the shape of anime characters or animals is extremely popular with children. One of the main events, the "La Montgolfier Nocturne," where the balloons are lit up during the darkness of the night, is a fantasy to behold. In the venue, there are also stalls that sell delicious local fare from Saga. Various guests also show up to perform on stage.
