Jigoku Nozoki (Peep Into Hell)
These cliffs are located at the summit of Mount Nokogiri, which is within the vicinity of Nihonji Temple. Visitors can feel the thrill of being high up and at the edge of the world while looking over at the view of Tokyo Bay, Mount Fuji, the Boso Peninsula, and other landscapes. It is more convenient to use the ropeway or the climbing motorway to go up the mountain. Visitors who wish to go hiking can head down the course from Hamakanaya, passing through Nokogiri Summit, Hyakushaku Kannon, Jigoku Nozoki, the Great Buddha, Nihonji Temple, and towards Hota. Researchers have been drawn to the surrounding area for the various flora, fauna and geological structures that can be found.
