Geibikei Gorge, a scenic valley that runs along Satetsu River of Kitakami River, has a height of 50m and spans 2km. There are various natural formations around it like strange rocks, waterfalls and limestone caves; a different scenery can be enjoyed depending on the season. There are wisteria in spring, fresh green leaves in the summer, red autumn leaves in the fall, and a snowy white view in winter. It was selected as one of the "100 Landscapes of Japan," the first one in the prefecture.
