Homma Museum of Art

This museum was opened in in 1947 to give comfort to the hearts of those who were affected by the trauma of World War II, while improving the country's arts and culture. Exhibits displaying arts and crafts pertaining to the Homma Family, who were the landlords of Sakata City, are held here. Doll exhibits and tea ceremony exhibitions are also featured in the museum. Visible from within the halls is the "Kakubu-en" or "Dancing Crane Gardens,” as well as the "Seienkaku," which is the old residence of the Homma Family.
