Located at an altitude of 340 meters, Mamenbara Plateau is famous for the scenic hydrangea blossoms along its slope. Within the precints of Myohoshoji Temple, also known as "Hydrangea Temple," are about 20,000 hydrangea plants. This area is best visited around early to late July, when the hydrangea are in full bloom. At the observation deck, it is possible to see 360-degree panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, as well as a glorious sunrise as it peeks over the ocean.
