Kifune is an old shrine that worships a dragon god who controls water. It has had a long history of believers from the ancient times. The god enshrined here is also worshipped as a god of of marriage, hence many young people come here to have their relationships blessed. Some noteworthy spots are: the "Okumiya," the inner sanctum of the shrine up along the Kibune river; "Amagoi no taki," a waterfalls within the shrine precints; and on the west side is "funaishi," a rock in the shape of a boat.
