Nanatsugama is composed of seven caves that were created due to the erosion brought about by the rough waves of the Genkai sea. It is a designated Natural Monument of Japan. The entrance is about 3 meters high with a depth of about 110 meters, which is huge enough that it is possible to visit the inside of the cave through a cruise ship, the "Ika Maru." On the grassy plateau on top of the caves, there is an observation deck and walking trail where many tourists come to visit. The neighborhood is also famous as a fishing spot.
