Ohyama Afuri Shrine
Afuri Shrine was said to have been built in the place of Emperor Sujin, the 10th Emperor of Japan, a legendary emperor who was worshipped as the mountain or mountain God protecting the country for a very long time. At the summit of Ohyama mountain is the main shrine, while the lower shrine is right in between 700 meters from the top. The main shrine is for the worship of the mountain god, "Takaokami," and the thunder god. During the Edo period, sightseeing in Ohyama was actively done by commoners, and it still being done until now.
