This mansion with its beautiful garden was built by Yataro Itami, a businessman from Saga, in 1892. In 1995 it received the designation as one of Japan's Scenic Spots. The roof, clay walls, and bamboo latticeworks gives off a nostalgic atmosphere, and the azalea plants and maple trees in the garden create a beautiful backdrop of color during their peak seasons. Visitors can enjoy the warm red autumn leaves in November, and the fresh bright green leaves in May, for the mansion is open to the public during these months.
