Mt. Kurikoma (Sukawadake)
With a height of 1,626.5m, Mt. Kurikoma is straddled across Iwate, Akita and Miyagi Prefectures. The autumnal leaves seen on one side of Iwakagami-daira flatlands are breathtakingly beautiful! Besides the beautiful, colorful autumnal leaves during the fall, visitors can also enjoy the fresh greenery of the beech trees during spring / early summer, as well as the abundance of alpine plants in summer. The great charm of the Sugawa Plateau has to be the way the landscape changes depending on the season - from the wetlands and lakes, to the canyons and sights unique to volcanoes.
