Nishinomaru Garden (Momijidani Garden)
This is a carefully maintained park around Wakayama Castle, a castle which Hidenaga Toyotomi built under the command of this brother, Hideyoshi Toyotomi. Visitors to the park can relax with a cup of matcha and some Japanese confectionery in the “Red Matsuan” tea room. A zoo containing two different sections has also opened here, with the “Fairytale Garden” section predominantly containing mammals, and the “Water Garden” section predominantly containing waterfowl. The “Tourism Souvenirs Center” is a must-visit for those who wish to buy local specialties and souvenirs.
