Shiramizu Amidado Hall
It is said that Tokuhime, the daughter of Motohira Fujiwara of the Northern Fujiwara family, had Amidado Hall built. It is now the only national treasure in Fukushima. The statue of Amida Buddha is also designated as an important cultural asset. Influenced by gardens with a pond, the Jodo garden in Motsuji Temple, Hiraizumi and Kanjizaioin Temple both depict beautiful seasonal views. The gardens and Amidado Hall have both been magnificently reproduced to closely resemble the lifestyle of the aristocrats of the time (mid Heian era 795 – 1185).
