It opened in 1952 and boasts the oldest history in Hakone. It currently focusses of Japanese pottery items, such as earthenware from the Jomon era (14,000-300 BCE) and old pottery kilns made during the Muromachi era (1185-1333). Pottery items from the Edo era (1603-1867) are displayed in the permanent exhibition. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful contrast between moss and autumnal leaves in the surrounding “Moss Garden” and “Haji Road”.
