Kakusenkei Gorge
- 鶴仙渓
- Ishikawa
Kakusenkei Gorge spans 1.3 km from Kurotani Bridge to Korogi Bridge in Yamanaka Onsen. Visitors can not only enjoy the unique shapes of the rocks and the small waterfall, but also the beautiful vivid colors of each season. The Tsurusen River Promenade is located along a mountain stream, allowing visitors to take a stroll. Situated on a narrow road to the rear of this promenade is “Bashodo Hall”, a hall which enshrines the poet Matsuo Basho. This promenade is a must-visit during the fall! The renowned river bed is open near the Ayatori Bridge from April to October, allowing visitors to enjoy walking along the promenade for longer. Popular things to eat in the area include the “Kawayuka Roll Cake” by Rokusaburo Michiba, and the “Cold Matcha Sweet Bean Soup”.
