Ukimido Floating Hall, Mangetsuji Temple
Ukimido Hall is one of the most representative scenic spots of Lake Biwa, cherished by haiku poets such as Matsuo Basho. It is also famous for being an enshrinement hall for “Descending Geese at Katada” (Katada Rakugan), a painting depicting one of the eight views of Omi. The important cultural property, “Seated Kannon Bosatsu – Goddess of Mercy” is located inside Kannondo Hall.
