Samegai is famous for the marine “Water Buttercup” flower, a small white flower which blooms from mid. May to late August. Cherished freshwater fish such as hariyo (a kind of Japanese stickleback) also inhabit these waters due to their stable 14-degree temperature throughout the year. The famous “Isame-no-Shimizu” water, one of the “Top 100 famous waters of the Heisei era (1989 – present day)”, actually flows from Kamo Shrine in Samegai.
